If something never was,
was it ever? If not, then why do we call it,
"it"?
If something was, but is no longer, Was
it really ever? Again, if not, then why do we call
it, "it"?
If something is no longer, Perhaps
that is because it never really was. But, rather,
"it" was something else, all along.

Friends
For many
reasons people enter our lives, Touching deep in soul
and heart. And equally for many reasons, With most we
find we part.
But,
God, our wonderful provider, Sends another friend our
way, For an hour, a day, maybe a year, Sometimes He
even lets one stay.
For
however long God blesses us with each, Our lives are
forever changed.

Pure
Useless
When
I forget to put my armor on To run the race before
me, To be prepared for all that comes, Naked for
the world to see, Then I am pure
useless.
When
I forget that the battle I'm fighting Was won by The
Lord, Not man, Nor man's sword, Then I am pure
useless.
When
I forget that the weapon of God, To fight the
enemy, Was every Word that came from Him And not a
word from me, Then I am pure
useless.
When
I forget that His yoke is easy And how His burden is
light, That He is where I find my peace, Cause I
am precious in His sight, Then I am pure
useless.
When
I forget to shake the dust Of the wicked from each
sandal, To realize when my job is done, That I
won't get more than I can handle, Then I am pure
useless.
When
I forget when troubles Are with another bound for
heaven, That I am to do as Jesus commands And
forgive seventy times seven, Then I am pure
useless.
When
I forget that Satan Sends many to stumble me, And
that God will use their fiery darts To make a pearl
for all of them to see, Then I am pure
useless.
When
I forget to love those who hate me And spitefully use
me for their gain, To say kind and loving words to
them, And turn to God to ease my pain, Then I am
pure useless.
When
I forget what's done in secret Will one day be
revealed, That no weapon formed against me will
prosper, That the fate of the father of liars is
sealed, Then I am pure
useless.
When
I forget that God has Sent me out as a sheep among
the wolves, To be wise as a serpent and gentle as a
dove, And that I'm always to do good, Then I am
pure useless.
When
I forget that the gospel is offensive To those souls
who are perishing, To not cast my pearls before the
swine, Nor give to dogs, that which is holy
and to me, cherishing, Then I am pure
useless.
When
I forget to be swift to hear, Slow to speak, and slow
to wrath, That speaking quickly words of
anger Leaves me in shame of the aftermath, Then I
am pure useless.
When
I forget to fret-not over evildoers, To not be
envious against workers of iniquity, To trust in the
Lord and to do good, Knowing He will bring it all to
pass for me, Then I am pure
useless.
When
I forget that those who reject Christ Do so
willingly, That in the dark they choose to
hide, To continue in their iniquity, Then I am
pure useless.
When
I forget that I am not of this world But a foreigner,
who'll never fit in, That I am salt to the
world, And it only takes a smidgen, Then I am pure
useless.
When
I forget that I am a princess, A Child of the very
most High, A pearl in the making, cleansed by the
blood, And that on wings of an eagle, I can
fly, Then I am pure useless.

A Fool's
Ploy
You came to me, not long ago,
Wanting to take my
joy.
I guess you thought you had the
power,
To make me your puppet, your
toy.
To think that you could pull my
strings,
And make me fall
apart,
To think that you had any
say,
Over the condition of my
heart,
Tells me what a truly
lost
And sad individual you
are,
Cause really all you are to
me,
Is a soul out there
afar.
In your anger, you
said,
Oh so
foolishly,
Lies that those who
know me,
Would never remotely
believe.
I have for you, only pity, And a bit of
laughter too, Cause in the end, all you really
did, Was make a fool of you!

The Depth of a
Soul
Can anyone measure the depth of a
soul, How far down one's trueness can go? If man
were to seek, could he ever find this, The bottom,
the end all, the depth of a soul?
It's where one holds the happy, the
sad, The place where all the emotions are
sent, The laughter, the smiles, the good,
and the bad, The love and all the
contempt.
Would we dare, if we could, Open up and
let known, All the trueness of who we are? Would
we dare, if we could, Let our feelings be
shown, Knowing how easily we scar?
O,
the depth of our souls, we can hide, Knowing that no
one can measure, All the truth of our
person deep down inside, All our secrets
and all that we treasure.

Grandma and
Me
Grandma is different than anyone
else, She’s always smiling, and she never
yells.
She thinks I am perfect, just as I
am, And that I am sweeter than strawberry jam.
No matter what’s ever going on with the
grown-ups, Grandma’s always got time for
us.
With eyes that twinkle when I am near, And
arms that hug and take away any fear.
Yes,
sure, Grandma's different than anyone else, But she's
great at making me feel so good about
myself.
If I had it my way, every day there
would be, A little bit of time for Grandma and
me.
Written for my
granddaughter, Samantha Grace
--djms | Sometimes
Sometimes
life just hurts. Sometimes there is no right answer.
Sometimes we simply have to move and trust the
Lord.
Sometimes nothing
makes sense.
Sometimes I cry. Sometimes love does not
just fix things. Sometimes things just are what they are.
Sometimes I lift my hands and cry to God,
"Please heal my heart."
